We've had to learn a host of new skills while working on our old house...
Framing: That is, creating new walls. Wayne was determined to add a half bath to the house, which meant planning a new layout, demolitioning the old and building the new. Check it out!
Landscaping: Our sad front yard was definitely a job for the pros. Luckily, Wayne's sister is a master gardener, and with her help we helped restore a little patch of nature. This page also gives step by step descriptions of the brick path Wayne put in on the side of the house.
Painting: This page is not about painting, per se, but rather the long steps you need to take before you can break out the paint brushes. On our old house, this meant removing age-old wallpaper and prepping the surface for a new coat of paint.
Plastering: Not many people plaster their walls anymore, and those that do often just do a veneer plaster (a thin layer of plaster on top of a special type of drywall). Here you can see how Wayne patched a section of wall the old-fashioned way, with lath and plaster.
Plumbing: Who knew plumbing was so complex? There's piecing together drain pipes to get the right angles, connecting supply pipes in tight corners, and even some roof work involved!
