Course

I intend to lecture once a week on the existence and uniqueness of broken fibrations for 4-manifolds, X. A broken fibration on X is a map to the 2-sphere (or other surfaces) which has only indefinite folds. This is something like a complex analogue of a Morse function. It offers a new tool for analyzing all smooth orientable 4-manifolds.
