Textbooks

The text for Math 24 is "The Knot Book" by Colin C Adams, published by the American Mathematical Society.

Course

I will give introductory lectures to acquaint the class with the elements of knot theory. The aim is for each student to be able to present a half hour talk on a subject of his/her choosing by the end of the semester. By mid semester, it is hoped that students will know enough to make reasonable choices of topics related to knot theory.
