Putting math in the paper without mangling it

Drawing on my experience writing for the New York Times, the San Jose Mercury News, and the Dallas Morning News, I will talk about the challenges of conveying math to the public via a daily newspaper. I will speak both about the challenge of writing about math when you've been trained in it, and the challenge of getting journalists who don't know much math to write relevant and coherent math stories.
