Klein bottle Well, it's about time I put something on this page. This is a picture of a surface called a "Klein bottle."   You know how a Möbius band has only one edge?  Well, sew two Möbius bands together along that edge, and this is what you get.  It has no inside and outside, just one side (non-orientable is the technical term). 

I constructed it as a parametric surface plot using Maple.  Here's a list of the functions and plotting options I used, if you're curious. I've also written a program in Maple for generating linear fractals

How does a mathematician spend his time? you may ask. Here's a clue.

I finished my master's degree in mathematics at BYU in August of 1998. Since then, I've been pursuing further graduate studies elsewhere.
